Amongst our “best of architecture firms in the Netherlands“, concrete develops concepts in , , urban development and brand development. They work with a team of 50 multidisciplinary creatives for corporations and institutions. Next to the happyhappyjoyjoy, projects include citizenM hotels worldwide, KLM crown lounge, Neni Amsterdam, Urby living US, Andaz Munich, W Hotels in London and Verbier, Zoku Lofts, Mongkok Skypark, Castell D’emporda, Supperclub worldwide, Rituals stores worldwide and we’re currently working on Virgin Voyages, W Hotel in Osaka, Manifattura Tabacchi Florence and more.

Born from travelling, the experience offered by happyhappyjoyjoy is a trip to Asia’s heart and soul of street food. Their vibe is social, casual, inviting, family engagement, sharing and warmth.

The first new happyhappyjoyjoy restaurant is located at the ground floor of the Crowne Plaza hotel functioning as a central meeting point for locals, hotel guests and office workers alike. This new happyhappyjoyjoys is an explosion of colours, print and objects form the perfect setting for a business lunch, casual dinner or all-night drinks.

As in other happyhappyjoyjoy restaurants, the menu contains a large variety of small dishes, from all over Asia, from rainbaos to dimsum, curries or rendang, to mix, match and share together.

On arrival, guests are welcomed by the hosts, who will guide them to a table of choice, varying from, intimate corner tables, curved booths set in an island sofa for small groups, high seats for a quick bite or even a calming water view at one of the big windows.

The island bar is a welcoming haven for all guests, set between the main entrance and the Crowne Plaza Hotel, open for drinks and food. Going in under the bright coloured lightbox sealing, an iconic island sofa featuring bamboo plants holds four booths. On the back wall the glass fridges display exotic drinks, framed by reclaimed wooden shutters.

Moving towards the water view, the iconic ceiling covered in back-lit red parasols in combination with the wallpapered walls create a cosy vibe. If the waving lucky cats didnʼt get you smiling, a night of singing in the fully equipped private karaoke room surely will.

The many carefully designed details give this restaurant a truly immersive experience, from the numbered menu to the Korean soft drinks and brightly coloured condiments. When spring hits Amsterdam, the big terrace will be the place to be. As the square has full sun during both lunch and cocktail hour, you can – beside good food & drinks – also catch some rays.

Located in the downtown area in the lowest level of the iconic Odeon building in Amsterdam that also houses the Supperclub, the second happyhappyjoyjoy restaurant is the place to be for a delightful dinner, a quick bite or post-party-cravings. The guest decides what to make of it!
The innovative concept combines high-quality food with the speed and opening hours of a bar, to create a new experience.

Two red doors swing open, and youʼll imagine yourself in a small alley in a vibrant Asian city. Submerged by bright neon signs, colourful artwork and the fragrance of delicious food. Once in, guests are welcomed at the bar where they can order food & drinks. Where they have the option to take away or eat in.

A few steps down and guests can have a closer look at the menu in the classic automat-foodwall, containing photographs of the entire menu. Special menu items can also been seen on the wall in red hand painted drawings behind the cosy seating opposite the bar. Red iconic hawkerstall-lamp shades hang above the tables and are accompanied by steel barstools. This is the perfect spot to have a quick bite, drinks, order take-out and meet your friends.

The steel profiled wall folds around the corner into the main restaurant area. A more comfortable area, but still active with high tables, benches and barstools to keep the bar feeling. The colourful atmosphere, is created by a collection of posters that are pasted all over the wall and lit by red neon signs. The red coloured backlit paper umbrella ceiling strengthens the warm Asian ambiance of the room.

At the back of the happyhappyjoyjoy restaurant is the open kitchen, with the pass framed with white tiles and red joints.

The Jade-green room under the iconic arches that carry the historic building contains high chairs and oak tables, and a full wall of ʻnot so happy catsʼ, waving their middle fingers to the attentive guest. The newsroom is a vibrant space with a long high dining table, red hawker stall pendants, a collection of iconic happy lightboxes on the ceiling, an Asian newspaper wallpaper and a big screen with Asian news bulletins.
